Hi everyone,

I hope you have all had as lovely a Christmas as I did with family, or at least thinking of family who are overseas, or interstate.   Best wishes to everyone for a great New Year     Jenny

Links to my blog

Hi everyone, this is just a quick post, as I am trying to add a link for a craft directory I have found, which is also Australian, so naturally local.   No offence to overseas links, but distance and freight can be a problem for some.

Anyway, getting back to the reason for this posting, the link I am referring to is:

Australian Craft Directory       URL:  http://www.craftdirectory.com.au/
It is a directory of crafters and their finished craft gifts, as well as art and craft suppliers in Australia and overseas.

Wish me luck that this works!  I will write again soon,  Jenny

Quilts

No doubt you are probably grabbing a quiet moment to get away from the panic of Christmas (did I say panic!), so I have tried to avoid the topic for you and post photos of some of the quilts I have made in the past.

The Hexagon Quilt and the Star Quilt are both
 hand pieced and hand quilted
I only used the sewing machine to add the binding

The other quilts have been machine pieced, but again, hand quilted.

All of my quilts to date have been made with material from my fabric 'stash'.

I have decided that my New Year's Resolution will be to try and do a couple of quilts  as it has been a while since I have made any.

Writing this, has given me the idea that maybe I should start a diary of my quilt's progress, so anyone wanting to 'give it a go' can do a practice piece before starting on their own big project.  Besides, your prompting may help me to actually finish one.

Remember, I am not qualified to say what is right or what isn't, but if you want to follow me, you are more than welcome.  You can only learn from your own experiences be they right or wrong.  You may even have suggestions of an easier way to do something.  Whatever you decide, DON'T go out and buy material for this - use what ever you have on hand!  Enjoy your 5 minute (okay, maybe 30) respite.  'Til next time, Jenny

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse  w....e....ll.....
maybe just a few, but they do like Christmas too.

'Attic Antics'  is how I usually refer to the mice I have in the shop.  They have gone away for the Christmas holidays  (in other words I've sold out!)  and their relies have come to look after things for them.

There are two generations.  The older generation are approx. 10cm, and the younger generation are approx. 7.5cm.  Sometimes all they need is a bit of encouragement  (a push in the right spot) to sit or stand.  They have a little bell on their tail which is good if ever they get into mischief, but they seem happy to just watch the world go by.  The really patient ones will also hold your pins for you.

At $5.95 each,  I'm sure they would be happy to come and look after your place too.

Best wishes  with the Christmas preparations.  In a few weeks you will be able to sit back and remember this one with joy - not just because it's over....the next one is only 12 months away, not that anyone's counting, ha, ha.   Bye for now,  Jenny

Baby Silk Set

Thank you to readers of Sugar Pie Prims Newsletters for visiting, and also thank you to anyone who may have stumbled onto my blog.  I hope you enjoy it.

Well!  Anyone who received my sister's newsletter (Sugar Pie Prims) are probably surprised I am not still

A: busy making crotched silk sets,     or     B:  still rolling on the floor laughing!

For anyone who didn't receive the newsletter, the joke is my sister spelling crotched instead of crocheted.

I have finally managed to get back on my chair, but haven't stopped laughing yet.....I think it will be a while before I let her live this one down.  I still sent her a thank you (forgot to ask for the pattern though!)

Okay, as you probably saw on my last post,  I am starting to get the hang of adding photos.  I am in the middle of working on the toddlers balls, but will have them here in a few days, so here is the silk set for now.
