Craft Fair...

Hi everyone,

I hope your week is off to a good start.

I am in the middle of my 'to do' list at the moment, but it keeps growing...lol...   :)   Apart from sewing for the shop, I am also trying to get organized for a craft fair in August......

For anyone in the area, it is a good chance to see local craftwork without having to worry about the weather, as it is inside the Hervey Bay RSL.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and

Happy crafting,  Jenny

...nearly finished....

Hi everyone,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

I think I have settled with this background....only a couple of minor things I might change.  I want to tidy up the sidebars while I am at it.....blogging......never a dull moment is there...lol....  :)

As to the sidebars....I have also deleted blog friend Pam's link for 'The Studio Downstairs' .   No, we haven't parted blog friends, but Pam has decided to concentrate on this blog , and her online shop.

Well, I'd better get back to work myself,  so I will sign off for now, and post again soon :)

Redwork finished......nearly :)

Hi everyone, how is your week going.....did you remember to visit Kaaren yesterday? Her choice of colours are lovely, aren't they :)

I have been promising to give you another post related to My Embroidery Journey......and have finally managed to do it......

…...as you can see, I still haven't stitched the centres of the gum blossoms!! Any suggestions...? A customer did suggest french knots, but I'm not sure about this idea. I have wondered about a 'spider rose ' (I think that's the title), that I have seen in ribbon embroidery, but I'm not sure about the size of stitch to the size of the area to fill.......what do you suggest.......?

I have to admit, I have already been working on another doiley from the tins. This one was already started...........

.........so hopefully I can do the original stitcher justice with my stitching. Unfortunately didn't have all of the blues, so have done the best I can.....as you can see, I have almost finished the blue stitching.....

The stitches I have used here, are stem stitch (black),  buttonhole stitch (blues), AND satin stitch (yellow)

Here is a pic of the original instruction sheet.....

…..and this is the back of the page....

Notice how they also give instructions for crocheting the edging too!! I haven't attempted that yet....I am in the middle of crocheting  silk sets for the shop.

This post has quite a few pics already, so I will do another post for how to do the stitches soon :)

Happy crafting, Jenny

P.S:   I  have received a note to say I have to change my background, so I don't know what I will be next time, but.....I'll still be here...lol... :)

Jenny's Jaunts

Hi everyone,

I hope your week has been a good one.   I recently promised you I would let you know where I have been visiting on the web......I have decided to call these trips......

Jenny's  Jaunts

......you are welcome to join me :)

.....okay, now that you have picked yourself up from the floor, and wiped away your tears of laughter at my choice of pic,  I will tell you where I have been....

I recently signed on as a Follower of Kaaren's  blog,  and last week she announced a free block of the month!  This bom is called  Raggedy and Friends, and involves both stitchery, and patchwork.    Nine of the 12 blocks include two stitcheries each, and three of the blocks have one stitchery each.

Kaaren is starting her bom on the 20th July.   I have added her button for this bom to my sidebar.   At present, it is linked to her blog.  While visiting her blog, look for the picture below to view the relevant posts.

Hi everyone,

I hope this post finds you all well.  I am just popping in to do this post in case you thought I was lost...lol...

As regular visitors and followers will know,  my brother is overseas, and contact with him is not frequent due to his work commitments, and facilities.  Naturally, he is often in our thoughts.....

'Lo and behold, Mum answered the phone early in the week, and who was ringing....yep, my brother who was with his family, and was calling to say they were heading up to visit for a few hours to see us all  :)

On top of this, we had more relies arrive in the neighbourhood a couple of days earlier, who I caught up with through the week.

Numerous phone calls took place, and organizing for accomodation, etc.,  plus my brother  would arrive here at the wee hours of the morning.   As he hadn't seen the relies for years, it was  hoped to be able to see them too.

Of course, no one got any sleep the night they were due, waiting for a vehicle to arrive, and hoping not to disturb the neighbours too much!!!   They arrived safely, and  I managed to have breakfast with them before I went to work, and they were able to catch up with the relies through the day.

I thought that was the end of it, but the phone has been hot again tonight, as my brother and family are  coming back sometime over the weekend before they fly out, so, a few more days before I get back to 'blogland' and catch up with you all.

May you all have a lovely weekend,  and I will be back soon.  Happy crafting,  Jenny

I can hear music.......

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all fine.  Have you noticed lately that a lot of blogs have music playing when you visit them?  I have no experience with mp3 players, nor am I up to date with the latest music.  Sometimes it is a shock when you hear them, and wonder where the music is coming from.....lol....!!

I'm not planning to add music to my blog at the moment, but it has given me something to think about, so here is what my playlist would most likely have.......

1.     Doris Day's Que Sera Sera (whatever will be, will be)
.......I figure most things you can't change, so why not make the most of  what you have

2.     Album:  Paper Lace and other bits of material
.......I had the cassette of this many years ago, and most likely still  have it...no comment required here,  Robyn (my sister) ...lol..!

3.     Silver Studs
        .......does anyone else remember them?

4.     Needles and Pins
.......I can't remember the group off hand....I have a funny feeling it may have been Paper Lace!

5.    Bay City Rollers
.........surely everyone has had some tartan in their fabric stash at some stage......lol........!!

Well, I think that covers my selection.  I think another one we would all have  is Material Girl,  don't you   :)  ........admit it.......doesn't this sound like the true playlist of a crafter....lol.... :)  What would yours be?

Happy 4th July

Hi everyone,   I hope all of my American visitors and followers have a lovely day, and the weather is kind to you   :)

......as for us Aussies, let's just say it was a tad 'fresh and breezy' today....lol... :)   Being an ex-Victorian, I frequently laugh when people complain about the winter weather up here...lol...!

Before I get too involved in this post, thank you to   Karen  for the lovely range of pics I had to choose from. Being a craft blog,  I thought this one was very appropriate!

I have been feeling rather guilty for my lack of posts lately.  When I started this blog,  I decided on one post a week unless I see or make something that I feel can't wait.....lol...!!   I have just visited  Chris at her blog, and it seems she is feeling the same way......it's nice to know we are not alone in this :)

Where does my week go?  Apart from my shop and making most of my stock,  I  visit my blog followers, along with embroidery blogs, and other blogs I see mentioned along the way.  I have also been doing more of  my embroidery journey , hence the embroidery blogs :)    I have come across some lovely blogs along the way, and  have put them on my 'to visit' list.   I will share some of these blogs with you over time, and you can let me know what you think.

As to comments, I love  receiving them, and, as most of you will know, try to leave a 'smiley' type comment where appropriate :)   I also reply to your comments via email....admittedly, I don't always do this the same day.....not out of bad manners, but sometimes I like to leave it until later in the week and make it more of a chatty letter, than just a 'thank you' .

Phew!!!  I can't believe how long this post has become!   For those of you have made it this far...a very big thank you, and I will try to 'post' as often as possible.

May you have a lovely week, and Happy Crafting,  Jenny
